The British concept of “competition” half works in my view, compare with AENA in Spain. The locos remain price competitve in market and the public facilities are decent. Not so “pint in a half pint” that is LGW/STN/LTN or MAN/LPL/LBA.
We have no strategy and it’s left to the open market.
