If you read the information at the link, this is not just aimed at pilots - and there are people out there who have found the grass is not greener after all. I think the point is that, for those who want to, rejoining (and transfers between Services) has been made a lot easier than it was, with pragmatism now much in evidence. The old days of "I know you have been flying the same type with X but you haven't been flying it in the RAF so you will need to do the long course again..." have gone. Is that not a good thing for rejoiners and for we, the taxpayers?
