Speaking to a friend today who works within MAG. Stansted will in the coming years have full ‘shoreline’ check in instead of the current ‘island’ design.
Though this may take quite a few years due to structural changes needed on the mezzanine level and baggage sort.
8 new ‘shoreline’ check in desks are expected for the summer. Possibly in time with Emirates launch. These will be located where the M&S was situated.
New arrivals building is apparently waiting for approval of Stansted being able grow over the 35 million passengers allowance. Though this is currently being debated.
Obviously some of these things may change again, but this is just what a friend passed on. Being Stansted Airport they most likely will, as things seem to change daily.
