I don't know where you got that idea. The pre publicity might have said a five-ship, but four were crewed, four started and four flew (all the way around), led by the special scheme...
All of the information - including that passed to MW, was of a 5-ship and that the lead had a very special paint job. 4 turned up, flew past and landed at Wallop for a photo op and departed later and none of them had what could be described as a special paint job.
One person who was supposed to be in the 5th one, was watching from outside the crewroom at MW.
Perhaps we were expecting something like the 'tiger-tail' that we had before and had our expectations poorly managed.
