I suppose if the "old" part of the building is upgraded with new technology then floor space can be saved.
I worry about the flexibility and room for growth additional space can provide (nb - useful space, such as additional retail) whilst the builders are on site and planning is in hand. However, someone has to pay for it!
Obviously, there is the prospect / possibility of redevelopment of T1/3 from the mid 2020's onwards.
Slot hand backs due, so it'll be interestiing to see where these go.
