By the same regard, why should someone be denied the ability to sit comfortably, never mind sleep, on a long haul flight because the person sitting in front decides to intrude into your seating area?
The person who is reclining is increasing their personal space, thus taking away space from the person behind. Surely it's less fair for the person who's losing space, rather than the person who is being denied even more space.
