GF yes believe or not these 2 questions are from the European EASA ATPL theory exams and have been around for years, probably since Admiral Horatio Nelson got wings. HMS Victory didn't have FMS so it's really important we can do these calculations to get us back to Cape Trafalgar again. Joking apart these are actually examples of some of the 'better' questions. Others often don't make any sense at all, bits lost in translation from Euroland, incorrect references, little or no QA. I could go on but I'll get even more depressed!
Q1 is testing your knowledge on convergence/conversion angle and INS implies a great circle track. Watch out for the question with the same numbers but wants the final great circle track.
Q2 NB the original question says turns left by 90 (not 99) and is a test on on change of latitude then longitude(or departure).
In both these cases you are not expected to use trigs to resolve the problems, nearest whole number will do.
For some reason these topics cause students problems which I suspect is why they keep asking them. The UK 'CAA' meaning 'cash again & again' when students fail.
