An FAA verification carries exactly the same privileges as an EASA PPL - and arguably more. You certainly wouldn’t be a student. It’s entirely up to the owner and the insurance company.

Edit: it looks like you’ve inferred that I was suggesting flying as a student. I was actually suggesting that if an insurance company will cover a solo student, they would most likely cover a validated license..
