Most of the companies paying for rating, in the US as well, have a 1st year salary that is very low compared to year 2.
Officially you don't pay for the rating, but in real terms you do.
Example?
Very rough numbers: Southwest pay a 1st year FO 79 dollars per hour. Lets make 75 guaranteed hours per month times 12: 71100.
Second year is 115 usd per hour, for a total of 103500. Difference of 32400 usd.
Same for many other. Who pays for the rating then?
