Lets face it, the standards of Legacy need raising! I've yet to have the pleasure of a mixed SEP day, simply the chalk and cheese experiences of those who are keen, have studied and know their stuff, and those who are relying on luck and a lax instructor to get them through their drills.

Funny how those comments look remarkably similar to the usual rentamob responses from imaginary customers drummed up by an appeal on CrewForum! Do us all a favour, why do all these reports always start with "I am a gold card holder', then go on to reveal a litany of misspelled and badly punctuated complaints by someone who holds a terribly important job and just can't wait for the 'professional' crew to return? I sincerely doubt these semi-literates are Gold card holding executives! Heck even the Atlanta Coca-Cola story features, that's a CrewForum favourite!

It's actually BALPA that put out the press release JT, not BASSA.

Wonker. It was your comments that are indicative of the cancer at the heart of BASSA not the BALPA statement. Incidentally, if you could read rather than see what you want to see in the statement there is nothing in there to "allow" any behaviour by BALPA members. But then as I said before, unions do not dictate behaviour, at least not those that purport to represent their members.

A new thread hijack

No sooner have people started to post " on subject" than BASSA issues pop up.

This thread is supposed to be about the job losses in Iberia, now I know we can't completely ignore the BA involvement in this but I find it hard to understand what involvement BASSA has that warrants so much bandwidth.

Please stick to the subject and if you want discuss BASSA issues please start a thread on which to do so, don't hijack this one!

At the risk of being accused of hijacking the thread..

Has anyone heard or seen anything of Unite's planned massed paella yesterday? Nothing on any news search, or the Unite website

A few people, hardly anything worth reporting on here. That said any support is good support. In other news the CC union have finally admitted that about 50% of the crew didn't actually take any form of IA. I thought they said it was well supported?

So simply put he has got you to thank then?

Joking aside, he is the CEO and not just a regular employee! He, as CEO, made a huge profit this year. That's why his pay has increased.

I merely posted a link Count.

If you feel any polishing of anything was being done in said article I suggest you'd best take it up with Bloomberg - good luck.

Now don't go all defensive with me Wiggy, you are linked by association with that article.

The question remains in the little time that Walsh has left at IAG, will he be able to enable BA Express and new contracts on BA's flight crew? His mojo is fast expiring dealing with Iberia. An attack on the soft underbelly of BA flight crew will be an easy victory and useful distraction from the problems at iberia

Are you for real? Get a life count, the internet is full of scammers, frauds and kiddy fiddlers so I guess you are guilty of those traits purely by association.

Of course you were there choc, yes of course you were or maybe you just drove past. It wasn't you (that just one motorist) that honked your horn in support of colleagues in your profession, fighting to save their jobs was it? Thought not.

Thanks Wonker.. less than about 80! According to their FB page 313 said they were going, and a further 105 said they might. Rather reflects BASSA's position on the line too. Only a handful of crew who carry the BASSA labels actually think they are worth supporting any more.

Re WW's remuneration, I'm not sure why people are crowing about his pay freeze. In the years 2007/8/9 he voluntarily turned down his bonus as CEO of BA. The average FTSE CEO remuneration is now at £4.3M pa yet his total remuneration, including benefits and pension contributions, fell almost 17% to £1.08m pounds last year.

Whilst one might feel CEO pay is overall too high as a ratio of employees pay, I don't think anyone can criticise Mr Walsh for being greedy!

I'd say it looks more like 180 BUG. Yes you are correct, I do feel WW is a bit hard done to in terms of FTSE 100 pay - I feel sorry for him. Especially when you look back and accept he's the one who went a whole month in the 'fight for survival' without pay, it's quite an insult to only get £1 million.
Let's hope when things pick up and IB come round to his way of thinking then he'll be granted a massive life changing package. At least KW's grateful he stayed at BA - he got a 40% increase in his package - perhaps he can help WW out!
