Wizzair Command Take Home Pay

Hi,

Can anyone give the info on Wizz take home pay for Captains based in general?

How do you pay your taxes etc?

Finally, how is the company performing? Is it a stable environment?

I see they are recruiting currently for the aircarft being delivered this year and any info gratefully received.

Is Virgin really that bad ?
Don't believe you will like the money, from what I can glean reading here & elsewhere.
I see them arriving "awfully" early in the morning in places like BVA, GRO etc and I know some of their last departures leave very late = home even later.
Think Ryanair with a side-stick & less money, albeit with probably prettier Cabin Crew (Calendar Girls excepted )

Hi,
Take home pay depends on base but best solution is to be with confair contract and take care of paying your own taxes. Pay is obviously not as good as easyjet or ryanair but living or commuting in eastern europe is also cheaper.
The company seems to be doing ok considering many other airlines cutting back.
Some flights depart early in the morning but duty days are not any worst than other low cost. Likewise for the evening flights.
I guess you can say that it's like ryanair with side stick but wizz staff is more friendly and in general people here enjoy their work.

Recently attended their interview/assessment day. Pay for captain (dec) is poor - slightly better if you are type rated. Pay is reduced by a third during training and there is no sector pay during training either. They give 30 days accommodation or an allowance if you end up being based where you are not domiciled. When the sector pay kicks in (following line training) then the pay can almost double. Only bases on offer were in Ukraine and Romania, none in Poland. Seem like a good outfit, but at the end of the day they are low cost.

Captplaystation... One can always ask a reasonable question. Virgin, like everyone are having a tough year. There are packages on offer for sabbaticals etc currently. Why not look about?

Indeed, and if you are 340 rated (as you are if I remember ? ) no pesky bonds or TR's to pay for.
My other half is Romanian & therefore I have visited the country. Most of the positions seem to be there, I would recommend visiting the country yourself before making a decision. There is bad . . . and also good, but it isn't everyones cup of tea.
As you have done the RYR thing you know lo-cost (or locost as the French call it. . . maybe not without reason ) BTW did you not get any response to your overtures to rejoin the Mikey-club ?

Ah, Mea Culpa . . . indeed I was.
Reading the other threads on here they seem to have kept people hanging on a lot after selection. I would be careful to have a confirmed start date before instigating an unpaid sabbatical.
Enjoy the "flying tampon" (the colours not the aircraft type )

Tax

For UK residents. If you are on a Storm contract you will be paid pre tax Euros to a bank of your choice (via International Pilot Services in the Channel Islands) If you intend to live in the UK for more than 90 days of the tax year you will have to pay full UK income tax and NI contributions through self assessment. Not as complicated as it sounds and any decent accountant can do it for you. The Confair contract is much the same except they pay directly and not through IPS.

Most expats try to get a base that has good connections to home. I dont know which bases they are recruiting for at the moment, they change on a regular basis but you can always apply to move base once you are in. New base opening in PRG in the next couple of months, looks like a nice city!

They need CPTs right now, exCollegue who is in WIZZ told be they are about 6-8 CPTs under at KTW.

Im told theres a heap of applicants to Wizz these days, even with many hrs on the A320, so they shouldnt be short on anyone! Recruit! Plenty of drivers to choose from these days.

Quite strange with the low pay they offer.
