hold short markings

Looking at an FAA guide to Airport signs and markings I see an ILS critical area hold short indication. It says to hold short of this line during IMC conditions. Will ATC advise aircraft to not cross this line or are we responsible to determine if "IMC" conditions exist.

Bried,

ATC will not tell you when to hold short of the ILS critical area hold short line. A safe guide line to use if you are unsure of when to or not to stop at the ILS hold line, "if the airport is IFR then hold short at the ILS hold line". You should be able to find the actual ceiling and visibility requirements in the AIM.
