Air Europe 737-200 wx radar

I am having a heated argument with a colleague. I am arguing that back in the late 70's the AE 732's were equipped with color weather radar and he insists that they weren't and that it didn't even exist (color) at the time.

If somebody could confirm I'll gladly print off the thread to show him, else if I'm wrong I'll keep it quiet and hope he forgets about it

Apologies if this should be in the nostalgia forum in which case feel free to move it mods. Thanks.

You are right flash8. I flew the AE 737-200's in 1979/83 and they had Colour Radar.

From the following website:
737-200Adv Flightdeck

"The latest of the 737-200Adv's look very similar to the early -300's with a full AFDS MCP, Autothrottle, PDCS, 2 FMC CDU's and a digital colour weather radar in between. It also has Collins FD-110 flight director and five-inch ADI & HSI; Dual electric Mach/airspeed, altimeter and VSI with dual digital ADC's; Dual RDMI which combines the RMI and DMI; Digital TAT; Pushbutton audio selector panels; VHF comm and VHF nav panels with preselect controls."

If my memory serves me, the AE 737-200 did not have Autothrottle. It was such a pain setting the climb thrust every 2000 feet using a table. What's ADV in that?

I believe the B732ADV got ATs (why is it throttle and not thrust?!) in 82/83?

First flew with a colour radar indicator in 1978. Was an RCA unit but can't remember the model number.

I'm sure the AE B737-200s had both colour radar and A/T, the A/T was disconnected by a button on the side of the throttle levers, actuated with the thumb.
