LH Hard Landing(2.8G) in NRT!
Was the reason overcontrolling with too much Aileron, so the Spoilers came out?
Did a 2.1g once. We discussed it and thought: "No, it wasn't that bad." so didn't report it. The subsequent telephone call begged to differ

I guess we're supposed to check the 'g' meter on the panel, right?
Remember how, like so many other 'safety' innovations, FOQA data harvesting and the QAR were put onboard with assurances that everything would be totally anonymous and would never be used for punitive purposes?
Cockpit cameras are coming in the customary two phase rollout process:
Phase One - Don't worry, it will never happen, ALPA will never allow it.
Phase Two - It's a done deal, our hands are tied, we had to go along with it or we would have no say in the matter.
Anyway, I'm certainly in no position to critique someone else's landing on 16R at NRT with wind from the right over the hills. I guess you could say that all that matters is the last ten feet.

They walked away, I bet they're even re-using the aero plane.
It was a very difficult approach at the end of a long day. These things happen. Good luck guys with your extra Sim detail I find in the Sim - kick it half straight, keep the wings level and hold it works a Treat, but maybe that is just the sim which I am used to.

It didn't bounce up though, so they only got charged for one landing.
What was the hardest ever A346 landing then? I assume you mean in commercial flight, not test flying...
Was the pilot just unlucky with the wind in the last second or two?

It does seem like Narita experiences more than its fair share of crosswind problems. There have been a number of lively arrival videos in recent times not to mention the FedEx MD-11 disaster.
