Indonesian Licence conversion from ICAO. How?
Hello, yes yes use the search function, I have tried and get vague information thats from about 3yrs ago at best. ANY help appreciated!
Does anyone have the specifics on converting a Australian ATPL to Indonesian.
Air Law exam? if so how do I find study material etc
Any links on the DGCA website to this?
I have found INDONESIAN CASR 61.75 but that is all.
Some posts on here says its a straight paper conversion, others its a law exam and a flight school are saying flight training etc too with a quote of USD$6500!!
I get a VISA on entry to the country for 30days, what then from there and cost of work visa? How to get one etc?
It doesn't seem I can throw all this in the employers lap, despite them wanting me to come over and work for them!

I have just done my conversion a month back from Ausi to Indo, Here you go with the steps I went through,
1. Medicals ( as you know )
2. Air law ( Part 61, 91, 121 materials provided by my company so no idea where can you get one )
3 New thing came up for us that we have to do CPL IR consist of all subs 100 qs al together
4. Flying part 6 hours dual followed by flight check in SE.
All about it hope it helps,

i haven't converted my icao license to indo yet but i can give u some insight into the process. 1st thing: its impossible to finish the whole conversion process with in a month. but that shouldn't b too much of a problem as u can get extension on ur visa without too much hustle.
2nd : i advice to seek some assistance from a local guy considering the language problem and all other things like the corruption or stuff like that. work permit can also b a very difficult and long process. i managed to get my validation of my icao CPL from DGCA, work and residence permit in 5 weeks about ten months ago. i still remember many people telling me i m lucky that i finished in a relatively short time. by the time i moved here, i already had a job offer so it was one company assigned local guy who took care of the whole process which otherwise would have taken me much longer. as far as i know, this guy also does similar things for expats coming to indonsia b it a pilot or other profession if paid for his services. i can give u his email or mobile no. if u r interested. just leave me a msg on my PM.
to wrap up my point, its highly recommended that u use local guys to take care of the process. its worth paying some money to them knowing the money u will b able to save on hotels and other things.

An new regulation came in to effect on 10th January 2013, that foreign pilots wishing to fly for an airline or charter company in Indonesia will need to have a minimum of 250 hours on type before the DGCA will validate or issue you with an Indonesian license.

CASA - Indonesian DGCA licence conversion
hey Jet-lover - would much appreciate the "key" mans contact who helped you with your conversion. Been involved with Indonesia in other commercial business, I totally agree that is indeed the way to get things done.
