You are correct in that you are absolutely not guaranteed a job with Ryanair after the type rating although it is likely that you will complete a line training program at some point...

just to keep to the facts Flybe didn`t charge for type ratings but had a 5 year £18k bond which reduced after the first year. Loganair had similar for 3 years and I believe Jet2 also...
