Trying to purchase Huey

One of my instructors is a Vietnam guy and he has put a site together to hopefully be able to acquire a Huey to take around the country give Vets rides etc.
This is the site if your interested to take a look, this is a non profit charity..

The Air Cav units liked their Yellow Scarves and Stetsons.....other Huey Units used other methods to acknowledge the Air Cav's presence...particularly when it was the the 1st Air Cav being saluted.

UH1 still flying in VN

There are still a few flying in VN. Listened to the sounds of one starting up and the signature sound of it departing from Tan Son Nhat last week. Couple years ago, I would drink a beer or 2 with a couple of the old VNAF pilots and crew chiefs at the tennis court. It was a momentuous time in their life just as it was for most all of the young and old US military rotary wing aviators. (and Aussie )

If there is sincere interest to take a flight.... step back in time and see the Mekong delta countryside pass by again.... Work up a group and send a PM to me.... Don't know what the cost will be, I will check and play up the PR side to see if there is interest and
see if I can get other interest....and permission going.

Just finished moving 4,000,000 lbs of dirt for an environmental project 2,500 lbs at a time with our Huey....

The base:

Morning pre-flight:

Had to move a water dam first to block the water channel:

Then the never ending bags:

And yes---Timothy & Tabitha helped....

Have flown the 212 for the last 4 years, and love it, super awesome machine.

Got to finally fly the 204 and 205 2 years ago, just managed 200 hours on them, 100 on each, fighting fires, awesome machines, and will hopefully get to log more time on them!

Cheers
H.
