EASA pilot flying on a ICAO licence - LIC. RENEWAL
Hi Guys!
I need some advice.
I have a EASA pilot licence with a jet rating.
I'm currently flying outside europe on the local ICAO licence.
I did the same jet rating from scratch on the other ICAO licence.
To maintain my EASA licence with my jet rating, I'll have to renew it every year, and of course, pay for it!
Is there any other way to keep my EASA licence valid?
I expect to be here for a few years before coming back..

If you don't want to go to the expense of travelling home and flying the sim, maybe change the state of licence issue? I changed mine from UK to Irish for this very reason. The Irish put my current (on an ICAO licence) type on the EASA licence, and each year I send them my training records. They then send me a new piece of paper with the extended validity for free.
The rating states 'only valid on aircraft registered in XYZ country', but it does keep everything EASA current.

Thank you for your help.
So, I can change my licence to the Irish CAA.
I won't have to renew my licence & TR on a EASA sim, and have it extended just by send them my training records.
That sounds great.
So, from what I understood, I'll only have to renew my medical and my EASA TR when I decide to come back to work for a European EASA Airline.
Sounds good to me!

I just do not understand there differences between CAAs in Europe..
