MH370 vertical dive?

I came here to look for PP observations on the academic study, published in April, but just now being noted in the press, but found only the thread that was closed in March. If this is inappropriate here, I will understand if the mods close this.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370: Water Entry of an Airliner was published in the April 2015 issue of Notices of the American Mathematical Society. Only the first five of the 15-page article are accessible to mere mortals at http://www.ams.org/notices/201504/rnoti-p330.pdf . A summary has recently been published, mainly in the maritime press it seems, eg MH370: A 90-Degree Nose Dive?.
