Transition Level and Transition Altitude high or low

Hi Guys..

Sry, but it is some time since I completed my ATPL and I think I have confused myself to a point there it makes no sense! So if you could help me a bit, I would be pleased!

Yesterday I was out flying the

QNH was 1030.

TA was 4000.

TL was FL50.

Why is it that that TL is higher than TA then QNH is higher than 1013????

I mean, if I descend to TL which was FL50 and turn up my altimeter to 1030mb, it will increase my altitude to more than 5000ft on QNH....

Should it not be the other way around???
