I need to know what things I have to put on the table in order to plan for flight crew number required.

what are the factors should be taken into consideration? and how will affect determaining the excat number of pilots I need?

My problem I know some of the factors but I need one of you assist me orginizing and connecting the ideas in my mind ?!

what is the base calculation we have to follow?

manpower planning ,manpower managment,lifestyle Roster(patterns),leave,days off,aircraft hours,FTL,sick leave,standbyes,reserved crew,maximum utilzation of crew.

Any refrences I can refer to it ?

How I can help the managment to choose the best option which will saving cost and crew satisifaction.

Well, you need to start with finding out how many working days or duty periods you need to man pr. month or whatever period you are going to use as your reference.
That should include all flying, training, reserved/standby duties etc.
Once you have you have to find out how many days in each period you can use each crewmember, taking into accound days off, leave etc.

Quite a bit of work, but makes for an interesting excercise.

I'm fairly certain there is an A320 operator in Doha already. Research their stuffing model, then adjust for your needs.

You have to start with your company's ethics. Are you going to screw your staff? Are you going to work them like slaves? Then when will you fly and how much time off will your staff have? Dial in training, leave, sickness, part-time working (managers) and you'll probably find you will need between five and six crews per airframe.

We use around 5 crews per aircraft for narrowbody shorthaul operations, however at times we have gotten away (barely) with close to 4, but thats stretching it. Narrowbody/widebody MFF needs around 7,5 crews per aircraft, pure longhaul flying depending on route structure might need somewhere between 10 and 15 crews.
