Prune thread from 2008 about Madonna buying and closing Compton Abbas airfield near her house because of the noise, does she still live there. Her Ex was Guy Richie!

No Landing Fees

It would be hoped that a man of his social standing would not see the need to charge any landing fees. That would make Compton Abbas a vibrant General Aviation Airfield once again, which we would all need to visit.

Apparently he is not buying the flying school so there seems to be an opportunity for someone else to do so. Some of the school aircraft are for sale along with a nice Stearman.

Talking to those that know the new owner it seems unlikely the airfield will be open in the long term.

Looks like flying is limited to hours of 9-5 and a 15 pound landing fee including each touch and go. PPR required.
Also looks like a great place to visit. Are limits like this at all common on UK airfields?

BBC - Guy Ritchie's airfield to hold new air show

The Aero Legends Takes Flight: Golden Age of Aviation Air Show promises "thrilling aerial displays, vintage aircraft, and a celebration of aviation history". Benjamin Perkins, managing director at Aero Legends, said: "This event is not just a showcase of our passion for aviation but a tribute to the pioneers who shaped the course of flight history."
