Industry better off without the likes of Disley Aviation
As an experienced aviation person the sooner Disley (and the so called investors) make their exit from all things aviation the better. Yes, aviation needs money but what is needs too are people who know what they are doing and who are passionate about doing it well. I only hope those who were unfortunate enough to have had to work for and put up with Disley go on to succeed in whatever they do next. Aviation needs good pilots and operations staff, not investors who want to make (or waste) money at the expense of these good people.
Apparently Mr Disley was chased around Blackpool Airport last week by people who were trying to collect money he owes. It all ended with the said Mr Disley fighting with the police and being arrested, that's after trying to ram his way out of being boxed in.

JARFCL - can you be more specific about the company in Hanger 3 for those of us who don't know Blackpool? Who are they? What have they bought? How do we contact them?
Hangar 3 themselves have nothing to do with flying schools, there was a company in there called ventbrook, who rented a space to operate, when DA went into a bit of a demise, ventbrook decided to up end out of hangar 3 and set up in the DA Hangar. Bit of a big hangar to be taking on in this financial climate, unless you have the customers, Good Luck to them.
Cleveland definately not sold despite rumours.
Looks like not too long before it is the end or forced into receivership. Anyone with money paid on account or owed should try and get it back now before it is too late. Not sure if aircraft will be maintained properly due to obvious lack of cash as suppliers have not been paid for months.
'Anyone with money paid on account or owed should try and get it back now before it is too late'
No sh?t, Sherlock!
Of course, you're right and if we knew where on Jonathan's farm the box of fifties is kept, we'd have been helping ourselves to it way before now!
But back from fantasy land, if you have a way of getting blood out of a stone when the stone hides, doesn't answer the phone or reply to letters & e-mails, we're all ears.
Of course you are right, but word was buyer was going to buy as going concern so members credit accounts should have been OK. But as this has not happened, maybe the buyer has turned over more stones then they bargained for. Cleveland is still operating, money is still being taken over the counter and aircraft seen flying. Situation not like elstree where there is nothing happening. Only fair to warn people still flying there, too late for those at elstree, dont shoot the messenger with your sarcasm, save your lead for the BTARDS that deserve it.
Word is there a garage or car firm Disley owns or involved and beleived they have hidden there? Sorry no more details. Maybe that was for who all the stuff was for delivered to elstree.

I can confirm that Ventbrook Air Ltd have moved in to the old helicentre hangar at Blackpool.
I will stress we have NOT taken over DA we are leasing the hangar and remain an independent company.
Any former students of DA are welcome to come into the Hangar to discuss with us if they wish to continue their PPL(h) cse. We will discuss in person or over the phone if you are trying to recover money from DA which you have in your flying account.
This is no means a guarantee that you will get your money back but we can point you in the right direction
Anyone know who Phillip Cunliffe is. He appears to be a new director as Mr Disley has resigned as director of the company.
Mr Cunliffe is also a director of another company which Mr Disley bought approx 12 months ago.
Appears Mr Disley does the disappearing act just before the companies go under.
Companies House holds full details of company directors etc as a matter of public record - it is also possible to trace other companies which directors are associated with. Small charge for some info, strangely internet access to info is only available during office hours
mr disley has left a trail of distruction behind him since 2004, he has been involved in several companies that have ''bumped'' employees for there pay, he is well known in the bouncer/doorman/security business as a NON PAYER OF WAGES to see him doing this again is not very nice, he grows fatter & fatter whilst the workers get thinner & thinner... not a person of good character...good look to you all
As an experienced Instuctor the sooner investors make their exit from training schools at Blackpool the better. All they want is to take well earned money from students. Yes aviation needs money but what it needs too are people who know what they are doing and who are passionate about what they do. I only hope those who were unfortunate to have contact with these types of people around this airfield go on to succeed in whatever they do next. Aviation needs good pilots, not investors who want to make money at the expense of these good people.
I myself learnt the hard way with the helicentre at Blackpool and that cost good money. I now fly for a school based at Hangar 3 DC Aviation KEEP GOING DON'T GIVE UP.
Thats just it you see, Disley survives each and every ''investigation'' that comes his way.
By the look of it he has put this Philip Cunliffe in place to take the fall (another mug, no doubt ) he (Disley) has a reputation for such sharp practice...he obviously saw the aviation business as a way of extracting more money from a '' new source '', im affraid the good people of the aviation world have just experienced the gospel according to Jon Disley,
'' work it right up whoever is in the way, because i want it all ''
