I think it's a really good idea! But there needs to be some work on maybe privacy screens or old school styled winged headrests that stick out quite a bit. But much like the standing seats that were proposed a few years back I think this will fade into history too. I wonder his long it'll be before a certain apblue and yellow airline will say they are interested in these seats, just to get a lot of free publicity.

Okay, so I can believe there is extra physical legroom, which is a serious concern for taller people. But for me (and I suspect many other average sized folk) rather than physical discomfort it is the claustrophobic, crammed-in feeling of high density seating that is uncomfortable. And in that respect, this looks a whole lot worse than what we have now.
It also looks like the space under the seat in front of you would also now be someone's egress route when the seat folds up - hence not available for storage. That alone could kill this idea.

So we will be be face-to-face with strangers, having to be constantly looked at, see each other eat, drink, pick our noses, ferret around in our ears, dribble, sweat, puke, belch, cough and sneeze?
This may be acceptable for a few minutes on a Tube train but much more of a problem on all but short flights.

So some 'inventor' has got a patent. Big deal! Do they meet the 16g rule? Would any aircraft so configured meet the evacuation rules? Would any airline (even FR isn't that stupid) invest in them, when they are already at the maximum number of seats?

'Enjoy high density seating in a business class width' - with an inability to snooze due to the layout (no arm rests or headrests) I don't think I'd be enjoying it.
With the plastic flip seats they just need to add floor drains to complete the 'easy to hose down' look

It is the claustrophobic, nose to tail (or knee to thigh) sardine-tin packing that I would find intolerable. And as I mentioned previously, increasing the number of seats on an aircraft while removing the possibility of under-seat storage seems highly unrealistic - unless someone comes up with a similarly novel space-creating idea for the overhead bins.
