It was a fair comment and I am a smoker.
It's only a few hours, a dose of HTFU required ?
(I have done the same flight 24 times so know what it is like).

The OP is a passenger, one of those that pays many of you lot your salaries, some of you lot need an exercise in customer relations, all he did was ask a question and a "no" answer would have sufficed.

mikkie4, why don't you take up the e-cigs now, a month before the flight. Perhaps you can reduce your dependance on nicotine to the extent that your flights will be less stressful. I believe that you can use the e-cigs at SIN, and they do have smoking booths there.
e-cigs apparently are a very good quoting aid.

Boarded a flight to Jo'burg with a heavy-smoking colleague some years ago. He'd prepared for the smoke-free flight by packing several bags of jelly babies. Unfortunately, about half an hour into the flight the 2nd or 3rd JB removed one of his fillings. Not a pleasant flight for him.

I was a lifelong and heavy smoker, I went on to e-cigs, the first couple of weeks it was difficult, comparable to drinking a weak shandy rather than a full strength beer, but then e-cigs became my norm and after 6 months of those I gave up smoking totally and I've been some three years without.
As I recall a bottle of the e-liquid was about the same price as a packet of fags, well one bottle of e-liquid was lasting me around two months!
No e-smoking on flights is one of those rules that is difficult, if not impossible, to enforce. It is not smoking as there is no fire and no smoke, merely a water vapour and they have yet to fit water vapour detectors in aircraft loos and even sitting in one's seat one can cup the cig in one's hand, take a puff, swallow the vapour and nobody around will be any the wiser.

I went on to e-cigs and because I was relocating to "the jungle" where I am now I bought up stocks of batteries, atomisers, filters, e-liquid and whatever else.
These hundreds of pounds worth of kit are now lying redundant in a corner of my office, I gave up e-cigs after 6 months and if ever I get the urge I have all this equipment in the corner of my office ... Three years so far and no such urge!
But being addicted to e-cigs is OK because all it is is nicotine and nicotine never killed anybody, it's all the other sh1t in real cigarettes that kill and those are not present in e-cigs and spending the monetary value of one packet of real cigarettes every month or so ... well e-cigs are a bargain!
Sorry if I defend and speak highly of e-cigs but they served their purpose of curing me of a lifelong addiction that I believed I would never quit ... Well done the Chinese

Giving up ciggies for a few hours is easy. I used to smoke and not smoking for 6, 9 hours on a flight or whatever is a piece of p***. Just get your attitude right and stop whining it's not like you are having a leg cut off under no anesthetic. Its a ciggy - you don't need it - suck your thumb if you need a nipple substitute. It's pathetic really. You can distract yourself in many ways use all kinds of patches & gum or just think to yourself 'Lets give abstinence a go and see what we can achieve.'

The probable lethal dose of nicotine has been reported as between 40 and 60 milligrams (the total amount in about 2 cigarettes if all of the nicotine was absorbed) in adults and about 1 mg/kg in children (less than 1 cigarette) . Children may become ill following ingestion of one cigarette, ingestion of more than this may cause a child to become severely ill. In some cases children have become poisoned by topical medicinal creams which contain nicotine.
