Private Hire at Jandakot

Hi All,

There's a few old threads on here with people looking for private hire aircraft at Jandakot. Most have died off and/or are far from complete. Google also does not produce much as most placed don't have a decent or updated Web presence. Given a few new operators have started up recently I'm hoping we can compile a list of known operators with private hire aircraft available (and type if known).

Please add to the list if you have more info and I'll try keep the first post updated. Please no sledging other operators or personal opinion. Just let us all know if you are aware of planes available that aren't on the list so us private pilots can find some planes to hire

These are not ranked or recommended in any way they are just added in random order. Please do your own price checking and due diligence before choosing an organisation to hire from.

The list:
Uni Flying Club - 2011 PiperSport (glass cockpit)
Curtin Flying Club - C172S (steam guages), C172S G1000 (glass cockpit)
Flight Club - 1978 Grumman Tiger AA-5B
Pearce Flying Club - apparently have a Piper at Jandakot trying to find out more
RACWA - C152, C172, C182, Mooney, Partenavia, Tigermoth, Chipmunk
JFC - C172, C182, C152, King Air, PC-12, various twins and others
Minovation – Boomerang, PA38 Tomahawk, PA28 Warrior, PA28 Archer, PA28 Arrow, PA28 Dakota
Air Australia - Cessna Skyhawk C172, Cessna Cardinal C177R, Piper Lance PA32, Piper Seneca PA34, Robin
Thunderbird Aviation - 2xDA40 G1000, 2xDA20 Eclipse (NVFR), PA44 Seminole, BE58 Baron, G58 Baron (G1000 Aircon, Weather Radar).
Cloud-dancer- no private hire available (22/11/12)
Formula Aviation - King Air, Chieftain, Navajo, Baron (not sure if they are available for hire)

Please post below if you know of any other operators who private hire aircraft or have any corrections to the above.

@MikeTangoEcho Thanks for the info. I contacted cloud dancer and was told they have no private hire aircraft and the ones they list are just for demo pre-sale. Thanks for the note on the 182 I'll add it to the list.

Wonder why this thread never took off? Here are a few more to add if the OP is still around . . .

Rentaplane: Piper Comanche PA24 (x2), Mooney, C172 - BE55 and PA34 both being readied but not yet on line.

ACFT: DA20, DA40, Aquila 210, Tecnam 2006, Super Decathlon, C172, C182, C210, BE58, PA44, Chippy

RACWA now has a PA44 and 2xP68s. There are a few other single aircraft private hires around the strip, but they come and go.

Depends what you want to fly and whether private hire or dual.

The cheapest and probably best value 172s are Curtin Flying Club's (caveat: I'm a member) at $220 an hour for CYQ and $240 for KXW (G1000 glass cockpit). Uni Flying Club (Piper Sport) is now affiliated with CFC, so being a member of one club gives you access to the other.

Rentaplane has a couple of quick Comanches (160kts) for $290 wet, including landing fees - which makes them particularly cheap on a dollar-mile basis (the PA24s also carry up to 6 people). They also have a $260 Mooney (wet, including fees).

Racwa prices aren't too bad if you're a member on private hire - though the fleet is getting on a bit.

Air Australia seems to have similar prices to Racwa member rates, but slightly cheaper dual rates.

Minovation has similar prices - but with Pipers instead of Cessnas - and their dual rates are probably cheapest compared to private hire. Not as much choice as some others, but good for basic training.

ACFT seems to be at the upper end of the scale, but their planes tend to be newer. I think they share their fleet with Thunderbirds. They've got a good sim.

There are a few other private hires along the strip - hopefully others will add to this list - but the above are the ones I've dealt with.

Thanks VT - I've always used RACWA because I'm familiar with them. I will compare the prices.

Regards...

I'm also with Racwa, but I hire different planes from different places depending on my needs, as some are cheaper/better than others and each organisation tends to have its niche.

If you fly mainly 172s and are interested in the Curtin aircraft - or are ready to step up to something quicker (Comanche) - PM me.
