Could it be that Network E120 Brasillia VH-TWF is the first aircraft to be stored at the Alice Springs Storage Facility? It arrived about 1815CST. Has this aircraft been sitting idle at Perth for a while?

No idea but I can just imagine the compliance drama down your end of the world moving airplanes in/out of the desert.
In the US with FAA Chuck with an A&P and 747 experience in his pickup can service the 747 and sign for a ferry permit, down there you would need to C check it first before it moved I suspect.( what if this what if that, reg this, reg that )

Great location for storage but not the correct regulatory environment. Nothing will come of it, back to Mojave, Roswell and Victorville. Land of the free...

Not so! The actual requirements for ferry are much the same in Australia as USA.

I would have thought Forrest a far better choice for a storage of old airframes facility.

If he does, I hope he goes broke because of it.

graveyards

Dubya8.
Dont think Forrest the best of spots for a/c storage. Much more moist airflows down near the Bight than at the Alice in the (normally) dry Centre.
Rain records would attest.

Forrest gets the "Mundrabilla Doctor" blow in about 4pm every summers afternoon with cool, moist air and that Nullabor fog that sits in there through the winter isnt ideal for storage either.

Apparently Tigerair are storing some aircraft at the Alice Springs storage facility. 1st aircraft spotted there today. Anyone know if they're Tigerair Australia airframes or one of there overseas cousins? Interesting.....

Apparently the Tiger A320 is being stored for 6 months with another 2 to follow this week. The Our Airline 737 will be turned into Coke cans.

For those who think Tigerair Australia are parking aircraft, they might want to check the rego's on the A320's going there.

The one there now is from one of the Asian Tigerair's.
