Hi everyone,
I did my application a couple of weeks ago and friday (17/6) a got an e-mail saying they wanted me to complete my application with some scanned documents. So I did friday afternoon and saturday afternoon I had received a mail saying I´m invited for tests the coming week.
I´m being invited as a F/O on the F50 and I do have a rating on the type. Has anyone been recently that have some fresh info?
Are the test done on one day?
Cheers!

Well I got a pdf-document from a Olga at their training center for contract pilots that said 3500Euros, but that is before taxes and stuff.
This is the qoute from the document!
Salary (incl. of tax. Contractor is responsible for taxation)
€ 3 500 per month or pro rata (actual duty days).
No per diem.
Cheers!

I have been invited for a B737 contract captain interview on the 30th June.
It has been 35 years since I last did my ATPL exams and I am wondering whether the questions will be testing the depths of my knowledge.
If you have been for an interview, would you be kind enough to give me one question which you can remember being asked in the quiz (and the answer as well if you have the time)?
Please respond here or by pm/email if you prefer.
Any help gratefully received.

1. Psicologic test, around 390 questions. (simple)
2. Technical Interview and HR interview. (know your last plane and HR be your self, don't try to be or show something you are not)
3. ATPL test 50 questions (not extremly difficult but requieres some knowledge, remember formulas for G.Nav distance calculations "coordinates", look at performance, operacional procedures...)
Note: Thoose holding a TR on the B737 (type rating) will have extra questions on the B737, around 25 extra. So far people with B757 TR did not do any.
4.Simulator assesment on B737 (thoose holding a TR will get more workload, people not holdng a TR they will look mostly at your basic flying skills) You can expect ILS, VOR, steep turns, climb descends..
5.If you are low hour pilot (NO TR) it could be that you will do the sim part on a PC-simulator with joystick and pedals instead of the B737.
With this said i hope it answers all your worries about what to expect. As you can see the assesment hasn't changed pretty much or at all..
Prepare as good as you can and good luck.

I got the email on the 17th too, had to buy a scanner though to scan the docs in, and only had my first day off yesterday - hope I'm not too late !!.
However I don't have the references they ask for at the moment, as in the UK you don't usually get a reference until you have been offered a job, then the company will contact your previous employer to get one, think it will be a problem ?.
TheOne83, are the answers multiple choice ?.

TheOne83,
Thank you very much for the reply - all the formulae I learnt 35 years ago have all disappeared from my memory bank so let's hope the pass mark is variable depending on age!

If I pass the interview, I will need to get a JAA medical.
If anyone knows of an English speaking JAA AME in Riga would they be kind enough to pm me the name and contact telephone number? Does he also do an audiogram or is that done elsewhere?
Thank you.

Yes the tests are multiple choice.
And yes, the tests are done in 1 day if you are not told anything else.
I recommend you to book an hotel room for a night. You could have your sim session in the evening around 21.00 It has happend. Of course if you are done with everything else by 16.00 you can go back to the hotel, relax etc. then go back.
Monur check this link out to review ATPL questions AVIATIONTIRE ..

If you need a JAA Class1 medical, you can use Aviamed, located at Riga airport. It is at the end of the hotel on the second floor, you need to be there at 9am to get a medical, as it may take some time if it is your first medical in latvia. After the Doctors have finished with you, they will give you a paper to take to the Latvian CAA building just beside the hotel and they will issue the medical cert. How much will it cost?, to be honest I havn't a clue!
Good Luck!

WMB,
Thank you very much indeed - just what I needed. I will give them a call on Friday (since I believe that it is a public holiday until then).
Hope you are enjoying your flying!

I have not heard anything since, but I am still hooping.
Has any low hour pilot who attended the assesment received any news?
