TNI-AU C-130 Crash

An Indonesian AF (TNI_AU) C-130 crashed today, reportedly about midday local (0400 GMT), into a residential area of Medan, on Sumatra.


Reports are of approximately 30 people killed.


TNI-AU operates a mixture of aging C-130B/C-130H and L-100 aircraft, although Australia provided four newer C-130Hs last year.

Yikes! I initially thought I was reading an old report. In 2009 an Indonesian C-130 also crashed on to houses, resulting in a large number of fatalities..

Latest reporting is of some 140 people killed.
There were well over 100 all killed on the aircraft, so perhaps a -30 stretch, but not necessarily.
