Bentleys for bombing??

Seen in the Telegraph...

"In appreciation of their role in this operation, I'm honoured to offer 100 Bentley cars to the 100 Saudi [fighter] pilots," Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal announced to his three million Twitter followers on Tuesday evening.

Makes the idea of sponsored cars for RAFAT look a bit cheapskate!

"Per Ardua ad Bentley" doesn't have quite the same ring to it as the RAF's old Vauxhall.

Apparently the Princes twitter account got 'hacked'...aka he was posting whilst drunk. Believe the Bentleys when they actually arrive.

Wensleydale, brilliant! Per Audi as Astra maybe?

And if you're Bze, maybe you'd prefer an Austin Ascot.

Al R,

The "Cambridge" Ten was nicer, IMHO (£185 on the road in '38).

As for the Bentleys, drunk or sober it was an excellent idea. It would hardly make a dent in the Prince's Petty Cash, and might encourage our Royalty (or dare I say BaE) to follow suit.

Of course it would have to be limited in some way. Perhaps to survivors aged 90+ ? (open to suggestions). (All right, I know the answer, but it was worth a try).

Danny.
