Bentleys for bombing??
Seen in the Telegraph...
"In appreciation of their role in this operation, I'm honoured to offer 100 Bentley cars to the 100 Saudi [fighter] pilots," Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal announced to his three million Twitter followers on Tuesday evening. |
Is this an MT promise?
|
Makes the idea of sponsored cars for RAFAT look a bit cheapskate!
|
"Per Ardua ad Bentley" doesn't have quite the same ring to it as the RAF's old Vauxhall.
|
Well played, Wensleydale, as usual!:ok:
|
Apparently the Princes twitter account got 'hacked'...aka he was posting whilst drunk. Believe the Bentleys when they actually arrive.
|
Wensleydale,
Congratulations on the Finest Pun of the Year ! (wish I'd thought of it myself). I salute you, Sir, Danny. |
Wensleydale, brilliant! Per Audi as Astra maybe?
And if you're Bze, maybe you'd prefer an Austin Ascot. http://www.vintagemotoring.co.uk/ima...894[1].jpg |
Al R,
The "Cambridge" Ten was nicer, IMHO (£185 on the road in '38). As for the Bentleys, drunk or sober it was an excellent idea. It would hardly make a dent in the Prince's Petty Cash, and might encourage our Royalty (or dare I say BaE) to follow suit. Of course it would have to be limited in some way. Perhaps to survivors aged 90+ ? :ok: (open to suggestions). (All right, I know the answer, but it was worth a try). Danny. |
Nice one, Wensleydale.
