Loads on Trips Now Gone
Hi All,
In case nobody looked, in addition to pissing off every single cabin crew with the sick policy, they have now removed all the loads (booked, estimated, ect.) and gone to the stop light system unless its 2 days before a flight. I for one will be raising an email in the upcoming days to JA or TCAS. This is completely unacceptable at ANY airline much less and expat based one. Bitching on Pprune won't help solve this problem, but it will help spread the word. Spread the word and write the powers at be an email expressing that this is a terrible thing indeed and to re-instate it. Hopefully everyone in the company will complain as there is strength in numbers. Yet another kick in the head to the staff. We knew this one was coming, but still, a kick in the head.

The problem is that some arse from the subcontinent was copying and selling the information about commercial loads on and that is why the staff cannot see the "sensitive" load information. I don't see you getting this one back I am afraid.

I've been here for two years. Been pretty happy in that time, but I must say this is the first thing that has really pissed me off.
Staff travel is a big deal for me and my family and one of the reasons I joined. Now our ability to plan ahead has been ruined.

Saw a flight a day or so ago before the loads disappeared that showed green to F, amber for J, and red for Y.
Y was so overbooked there would not be a seat left on the aircraft when the Y's were pushed forward.
So how does that give anybody the confidence to plan a trip home?
I can see a lot of "absents" as people miss flights bad to work..even if you can see a few days out. When you're stuck two sectors away from Dubai that's not much help.
More expense, less flexibility, and a lot more stress.
End result, staff even more unhappy. It beggars belief that the company is in deep shyte with staffing levels, and yet every week there's another policy change that further inflames an already critical manning level.

short flights long nights
I'm afraid, Jack is right. It's not coming back. Once again, one person ruined it for everyone.

Just wondering what Timmy is afraid about? As according to his own condescending words all other managers are useless, because they don't buy the Dugong and he simply opens its doors and "they" run in!
Considering such success, one should assume that he would not care about the incompetent competition reading the numbers, but rather gloat with them ....

What he said about the Dugong is nothing more than propaganda. He knows the airline is out on a limb with this lemon and hopes others will believe the hype and buy into the thing. That's why he cares.
What l don't understand is the fact the a lot of the flights are full if not over-booked.
They mustn't be charging enough for each seat.
If they charged appropriately (more) with a higher yield they could be running at a more normal level of 80%.
This gives wiggle room when things go bad or better than expected.
As an aside, there are more seats available for staff.

It may backfire a little on the Company this time. Staff Travel contributes a not too shabby income, in the order of Millions of Dhs per week, on otherwise not utilised seats. With the inability to accurately plan a trip away, I for one, will not be travelling any where near as much as I have been until now.

I heard the reason behind this latest stunt is that load information was being passed onto friends of employees who are Skywards members and hold a high tier status.
Instead of booking a seat in a premium cabin, these Skywards members were being advised which flights were busiest in Economy and were then buying Economy tickets and then getting upgraded on a regular basis.

The "indian selling inside info" never made sense as all the information available on Trips.net (Booked loads, load estimates) is available to any subscriber to booking engines (SABRE, Travelport, Amadeus etc.) anyway.

Now, here's where it becomes far more critical, where it shows the seats allocated to each subclass within the cabins, which is the type of information that people who are trying to get inside information on rebate and redemption tickets would need. It requires a higher level of access to the system to obtain the more sensitive information below.

All the people who have access to booking information can see the loads and all "sensitive" data. All the people means almost everybody but the pilots and cabin crew. This is just a way to punish us and it does not have any other explanation (indians selling info, skywards passengers and so on).
Punish us for what? I dont know, but that's clearly The reason behind this decision.
Capetonian, that is not such a secret. Just get closer to someone behind a ck-in desk at the airport (even abroad) and you get all the magic numbers.

It's not difficult to get that info. Problem is - now anyone can, actually, sell the info and many will try.
