I was asked to re-apply, that is why I submitted a new application. I heard back from them within 2 days of submitting my application.

I am current on the A320 with over 2500 hours. Not sure how or if they will select me for an interview, but we will see what happens. I'm content where I am right now, but there are much better opportunities with Emirates in the long run.

Good luck !

I got an email from Emirates

The other day I got an email from emirates.
And the title was as follows
"Flight Deck Opportunities- First Officers : Matching your Preference Criteria. "

I made an application on emirates career web site, but didn't complete it thoroughly, though. And I've left it unfinished for these 6 months.
I am wondering if Emirates is going to start screening soon?

I am currently captain B737NG. PIC1500hrs ttl 6500hrs

Thanks for any infos!

I got the same email the other day. TT 8100 and 4000 on B744.

I'm not holding my breath. They will probably have plenty of qualified guys in the pool to get through first. If they still have a requirement after that, and I suppose they could well do given their order book, then they may look through the more recent applications. Wouldn't expect anything before next year although I would be pleased and not a little relived to be proved totally wrong.

i think that if they were plenty of people inside a holding pool, they wouldn't reopen the first officer position for new screening
new screening should be supposed to be held on october as far as i know

Some of the people in the holding pool have been there some time according to the postings here. Some will no longer qualify under the new criteria, some will not bother going for a reassessment, especially as you have to pay your own airfare, some will have lapsed in recency etc etc. That will still leave plenty to fill any courses this year IMHO, the call for further applications will be to have another pool of potential recruits for the next 12 - 24 months. There have been statements to the effect that total recruitment for 2010 will be well down on previous years and the actual delivery schedules have been subject to delays. Given the lead times in getting pilots in and trained, they are probably looking 1 to 2 years ahead for people applying now. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, I would love a job next year because in 12 months, my recency will be out the window as well and after that I will be looking at B&Q, unless there is a big improvement in economic conditions.

Again, I really hope that I am unduly pessimistic.
