It seems CTC have now closed F/O recruitment.
I applied early this month, still not heard anything back since updating my profile and the web portal still says "Awaiting Decision"
Many others in the same position?

Yup. Confirmation (for me anyway) by way of a CTC/Flybe Roadshow email rather than anything directly to do with the CTC online application:

PLEASE NOTE: We’ve had a fantastic application response so far – thank you to all who have applied for First Officer and Captain positions for Europe’s largest regional airline. We will be temporarily closing applications for First Officers due to significant demand, however recruitment will be continuing soon. Please continue to visit us at our Flybe Direct Entry Recruitment Roadshow to discover more and prepare for your application when recruitment for First Officers is re-opened. Applications remain open for Captains.

Can't help feeling that now that CTC are handling recruitment, they will automatically push their own AQC and Integrated graduates Flybe way, with anyone outside of those two avenues very much third in priority. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Maybe a question for one of the up and coming Roadshows....

Hi Rebato.R,

Same here. I will bee seeing you in Dublin then. Somebody posted a link above your post concerning the aptitude test. I suggest checking that out.

Regarding the questions and group assignment, I could not find that much information.

Anyway,

See you then.

Hi mate. What I seen from here and there is that you can expect a standard pf pnf ops with another applicant on the Q400 sim.
Birmingham Daventry 5d Dept climb and level off raw data set app in a/p and land in raw data ils33.

Can you give us a feedback of how was the interview with ctc and flybe assessors? Cheers

Thanks for the information guys.

The assessment day was very pleasant. CTC do you really put you at ease.

The interview was very straight forward. You must know about the company as if you don't, you won't pass. Expect competency based questions asking for examples of the skills and attributes of a pilot. Questions would be on the line of teamwork, leadership, flexibility, adaptability, pressure and handling.

Technical questions are also asked but not always.

I hope the above helps and good luck.

Hi all,

For the sim assessment, I have been told that there is a briefing about handling the aircraft, configuration and stuff. Just the basic. Then it is in BHX rwy 33. Daventry 4F departure as published in RAW DATA and FD on.
Tiny bit of handling, then vectoring for a RAW DATA ILS without FD this time.

Do you have more information about the computer test during the first day ? Were there anybody from Flybe ?

Cheers,

I have been invited to a selection event but as others have put, there are none available at the moment. The guys at CTC emailed me and said just to keep checking as they upload new assessment dates each week.

yeah through the portal, there is a link that you click on and it takes you to another page so you can select the assessment date when one is updated.

Check that you meet all the requirements - have 16 hour JOC etc

I hear it's not guaranteed that you will pass the first stage sift...... Apparently they have over 1500 apps so they have a massive choice

Hopefully it's only a system glitch or something minor

Anyone attended the recent Dublin assessment ?

Pilot aptitude test

I've subscribed to pilotaptitudetest.com in preparation for CTC selection day. Think I read here that the website above is a good choice, there are different sections but generally it seems pretty easy, hopefully I'm not jinxing myself just want to make sure its representative. Questions like "two magnets with same pole will?" And it's multi answer. Or "second is to minute as day is to? If you turn west 180 deg you'd be facing?" Difficulty in maths was set to high and questions are. We have £60. Aviation fuel is £16per litre. How many litres can we buy if minimum purchase quantity for oil is 4 litres? Another one What is 1614x492. 15 questions total about 5 mins. For anyone who's had a CTC assessment are there questions representative? Also random questions from Science Hard section. What stage comes after a red dwarf in a stars life? Though personally that was funny and irrelevant. Do enjoy watching Brian Cox, Aka Coxster banging on about million million million millions.....millions of Atoms but got it wrong, in case you were wondering it's black dwarf, might of forgotten it already so I'd double check that.

Just like everyone else I guess I'm waiting for dates to be available for me to choose. Last one was in Dublin with only 3 or 4 days notice so I couldn't commit to that.
