low timer SCAM alert - Wings Of Peace

Low timers beware of the SCAM that calls itself "Wings of Peace"

http://www.wingsofpeace.org/index01.html

They will charge you 20,000euros to get a few hours in a C170 in Brazil, then send you to Belize to sit in the right seat of a single pilot Caravan operation, and tell you that you will have a job waiting for you when you are done 'training'.

They claim to be doing 'missionary work' too! According to their website their pilot 'bases' are: L.A., Ft. Lauderdale, San Pedro Belize, and Campo Grande Brazil. What kind of missionary work needs to done in these places???

FACTS: WOP do no own a single aircraft. there is NO job lined up for you when you are finished 'training'. it is not missionary flying!

every line on that site reeks of unmitigated BS - even if you overlook the funky grammar, vocab and typos. anybody dumb enough to fall for it is by default utterly devoid of sound judgement, and as such is unfit to be trusted with lives and equipment -- ergo, he/she deserves to be scammed and hopefully will give up on the proffession upon -- if ever-- figuring it out.

contract negotiated by ALPA just precious

matter of fact, i'll send the link to alpa, they'll have a good laugh, and then have it shut down

if you are willing to join a company leader in the aviation market, please make me a donation.

I am looking for planes ,pilots, captains, uniform, offices, coffe machines, nice ladies, cell phones, pen, paper,....everything to build one of the best company in Europe.

Danger

Official reply from ALPA after an enquiry regarding this thread:
We already are looking into this. There is no known connection with ALPA at this point. As the information in the thread suggests, we advise caution.

Wings of Peace - bush flying

Hey all,..

just wondering if anyone had any info on a company called 'wings of peace'. saw them on the internet. apparently they have programmes for low time pilots, train in the US and then sent to south america, i think mainly Brazil.

I'm sure there's a catch somewhere to this...coz it's mainly "volunteer low time pilot programme" with a couple of different options? plus it didn't mention anything on how much the 'training' costs? there's got to be a significant cost involved somewhere.

anyway, here's the website: Wings of Peace

any info would be helpful.

...not to mention the fact that they only accept payment via wire-transfer (which is, if I'm not mistaken, un-traceable!)!!
This is a scam, if I ever saw one! Steer clear!!
Once you've sent them your money,....well,....you won't see much of "Wings of Peace" again. My guess is that it will get awfully peaceful.

Who were the guys? Care to share some names? How much did you pay and what did you get? Where did you train? Are they certified for training in Brazil? I didn't find anything about them in the Brazilian DAC website. I don't believe in what you say, and I think you just might be part of the scam. Obviously you are Brazilian because you have a Brazilian name.
