Another Dragonair Engine failure
Last week, another PVG - HKG flight suffers inflight engine failure . Plane diverted to Xiamen. Aircraft was one of the former CX museum fleet of decrepit airframes of 20 year plus generation of A330s, that predominate throught the Dragonair fleet.
Oh, And more to come.
Come on , SCMP, do your research, get investigating and reveal the true extent of the reason for the re branding. Its not the former livery they are trying to hide, but the huge mechanical failure rates they now suffer , and tolerate, as an airline. Re brand, and it all goes away.
Except those " new" 4 A330s CX has already financially depreciated to zero years ago. Along with their reliability. HKA must be smiling ear to ear.

Also shows an interesting lack of knowledge about how engine maintenance works. The age of the airframe and age of the engine are two very different things, it isn't that specific engines stay on a specific airframe - the engine could well be five- six years years old
