Shenzhen Airlines HKG on Sunday!
Incident: Shenzhen A320 at Hong Kong on Jun 26th 2016, below minimum safe altitude during go around and unexpected 360

Reminds me of the time when there were some nasty-looking Cbs sitting off the end of 25L one morning. Several departing aircraft, including one from a HK-based airline (call-sign starting with 'B'), asked the tower for an immediate LEFT turn after take-off due weather. Surprisingly, the tower controller declined their requests!
Listening to the archived audio on ATCLive, it's a bit surprising the Final Director didn't see the divergence and say something. Instead he flick passed it to Departures after the go around commenced. By the time they changed freq and called, it was all over, the aircraft had almost completed the turn.
No save by ATC this time.

That's a bit mean Buzz, I'm sure the intent was an immediate radar turn when available - as opposed to the full 7 nm as required by the SID. Everyone knows the radar minimums are much better than the SID departure track.

…and will there be any ramification..? the silence will be overwhelming and somewhat deafening. So there we go..welcome to this new non coherent aviation regime..where the prescribed Go Around, SID and STARs are now unto our mainland chinese( and thank you, small m and s intentional),..a choice. So..next missed approach..seen the deity, better take a look at the IFC..shave the gap over Saikung..lets make this a Hobson's choice and screw the rest of the poor buggers behind or ahead on the magenta line…time to pull the pin...

A wise maneuver really. If you're planning on overflying the highest terrain on Lantau, it's prudent to have altitude.
Well done by the crew and good monitoring by the FO.
Now, where's that broom.

Please tell the CAD met these jokers on the bridge and removed two licences. Not especially concerned about two idiots killing themselves but a plane full of passengers and then anyone that was even close to the airport is way too much to overlook.

Well, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
In all seriousness, this is completely inexcusable, and an indicator of the race to the bottom.
But the travelling public morons, in China, in Hong Kong, and eventually worldwide, want cheap tickets. This is what you get.
And CX, KA and all the big players aren't far behind.
Well done
