Has anyone revalidated their SE SPA IR on the basis of a LPC in a mutli pilot aircraft. LASORS Section E Appendix C? Its also in JAR-FCL. Im trying to do this but it feels like im the first or only person attempting it.

All the instructors I talked to said the same as you.

But its written in LASORS and Appendix 1 to JAR-FCL 1.246 that you can claim the credit.

I agree with you that single pilot s/e is a lot harder but the CAA seem to say its possible. I say seem because I have not revalidated my SPA IR yet. All IRE's I come across are sceptical.

JAR introduced limited cross crediting in AL4 to JAR-FCL (Appendix 1 to JAR-FCL 1.246). The UK passed it into law last year.

You can only make use of this if you are revalidating your SP SE IR, not renewing. For a SE IR you need to show logbook evidence of 3 approaches as single pilot under IFR. BUT, it's not the multi-pilot TRE who signs off the single pilot IR; you need to go to a single pilot CRE/IRR with the evidence of your MP type rating and the 3 approaches. Wave LASORS under his nose if he's unhappy about it.

There are some credits towards revalidating a single pilot ME IR but you'll still need a proficiency check comprising an EFATO and a couple of asymmetric approaches - all under the hood.
