Hello.
I am currently undertaking the FI course and really enjoying it. I do however have a question. I have flown aerobatics for while and would like to become an aerobatic instructor aswell. Can you become qualified and teach aeros while holding FI(R)? I quote from the good book:
"The restricted rating does not confer privileges for Night,
Applied Instrument, Aerobatic or Multi-Engine instruction
without additional training and the formal removal of a
limitation imposed when the rating is issued."

Does this imply that i can teach once i have passed the aerobatic instructors course?.
Thank you.

You can indeed to the aerobatic instructor course while unrestricted. i conducted a course for someone last year alongside his FI (R) course so that the restriction for aerobatics was removed at rating issue.

Alan Cassidy is probably the most prolific aerobatic instructor in the UK, having put more people on the podium than any other. He's still 'restricted', simply because all of his pupils are PPL holders, so he never gets to send students solo.

Go for it!

Thank you very much. That has made my day:). I cant wait to get through and start sharing the knowledge to up and coming pilots and at the same time teaching aerobatics.
