Why you should accept an 3% increase on HDP -
From a friend in personnel who provided me with a copy of his extension renewal:
Year 17 A scale
40K management bonus monthly
43K special bonus monthly
20% training allowance on total package
Pfund
Here's to his bonus (and steves)

So what does a 17-year A scaler make? Seems the B Scale salaries are well published but not the A scale salaries. Anyone care to PM them to me. Where do they hide? Are they kept a secret as not to piss off the others?
Likely a 15 year B scale Captain will make less than a 5 year A scale F/O. Anyone care to set me straight or shed some more light?
No wonder he takes great pleasure on screwing the pilots when he makes over $200,000 HKD a month. I should be a manager. Not sure if I would pass the MUT course though.:(

He also has housing on top of that.

Didn’t he just fire 2 pilots for housing? He must be on a better package and not get taxed if he is an owner.:E

It is rumoured that he gets allowances on his leave & terminates flights down route. But then again "that cant be done" so it must just be rumour.

Alpha, I suppose it is roster disruption for some other Captain and that Captain has his roster messed about. :hmm:
Now I see.:ugh:

Bloggs no need for a PM as this information is widely available in the green pages.
17 year Captain is $153,824 according to the July 1999 green pages. It may be different from that for a "locally negotiated settlement" (ahem, ahem...) but that is what is printed here.
Mysteriously, if you divide that by the current sterling exchange rate, it is within a bulls roar of the freighter salary in the UK. OK there are tax issues, but the cost of living takes care of a lot of that.
Which takes us back to the thread, "Why do we live here?"

Where do I find the green pages?
So does a 5-year A scale F/O make more that a 15 year B Scale Captain? I would like to look at this. Makes stranding 300 pax justifiable. :ok:
Even if the cabin crew are delayed.:*

AOA will show you the green pages. Not a member? Join, its a smart move in the long term, even if you disagree with their current direction.
One day you will be glad of the IFALPA rep who keeps the mob away after an incident downline. And finds you a lawyer to post bail, etc etc.
Sorry to hijack the thread. Back to the program
To your question, no a five year A scale FO does not make more than a 15 year B scale captain. Not close.

an A scale FO makes just about the same as a B scale Captain.
With no more increases , the B scale Captain salary reaches the equivalent to year 1 A scale salary in about 17 years...not good

Green pages are "A Scale" which you don't see around much as the troops may revolt when they realize. :{
