a franco-dutch airline whose name I will not divulge ;) says they cannot or do not want to carry out the transport of the following piece on one of their 747's to SIN.
I obviously do not want an A124 for pricing reasons, but could be trucked anywhere in Europe
what does CR2 (and / or others) think about this:
380 x 242 x 300 (all cms, L x W x H) and 18,000 kgs

That cargo requires additional spreading/shoring as its way over the floor limit. Given that its already 300cm high, there's not enough space for spreading and of course the pallet.
Try and reduce the height by say 20cms.

thanks Rat - but you are also thinking along the lines of a 20' centreload, are you not ?

Correct, centerload. Too heavy to crossload on a 16ft, even though it would (just) fit.
I had heard in the past (though this may only be a rumour) that AF no longer accept such heavy pieces as centerload. Maybe someone knows one way or another?

Just trying to think outside the box. Will it fit in the Belfast due to depart SEN soon for points east possibly via SIN ??
Be lucky

Folks, we don't have to list each individual 74F operator here. They all have the same sized doors.
:ugh:
