A few yrs ago just after 9/11 there was a flight school/club that went under under very dubious circumstances. Something to do with Operating a DC3 at Bournemouth. Just wondered after all this time if anyone had heard what happened to the DC3 or the Owner.
Just interseted thats all, Ta.

Hi,

I believe the owner was Tony Holden who had an aircraft registration G-SONY if I remember correctly. I think there were a few unhappy customers when the School ( European Flyers ) went bust. Not sure where the DC3 went, but I thought at the time it was at North Weald.

As an aside, I saw Tony and his wife on a flight back from MCO last November. I said hello and he looked a bit "sheepish" and probably felt uncomfortable for the whole flight, not knowing whether I was one of his former ripped off customers. Luckily I saw the warning signs some months earlier and had escaped!!!!

OK thanks for the replies. Yes I do remember some horror stories about the Owner. Just thinking about it when I saw a couple of C47's dumped in S.E. Asia.
Cheers Nick.

Yeah, I was one of the instructors...
One of the the DC3s was parked up at Popham for a while afterwards. Don't know where it went after.

The DC3 mentioned was ferried (and sold I think) to the USA back in May 2006. I came across into it passing through Wick (EGPC).

He sold Fifi-Kate and she left Holland in May. Details of G-DAKK (ex-South Coast Airways of Hurn) are still on dakotasale.com, and a whois on that domain will get you the domain owner's info, or the info he gave at least.
