Does anybody know the lastest news about QR's new baby, the A346? Rumors have it that it had a hydrolic problem just before leaving for Doha.

Multiple design faults....
Initially:
1) Autobrake and anti skid swithed itself off on touch down --> Fixed
2) IFE screens went dead when TO power was set --> Fixed
3) Resonating noise in business class cabin coming from Hydraulic lines --> Identified as a problem with hydraulic lines being too long --> Fixed
Two weeks later, the QR team returned to TLS
1) During the test flight the hydraulic lines caused severe vibrations again in Buss Class cabin. The seats where not in place but the famous bar was --> vibration too bad for acceptance!
Airplane is now still in TLS, airbus engineers are working on it! QR engineering team was congratulated by Airbus since they where the first team to discover/identify the problem, which is an existing one on all A340-600s flying.
QR is known at Airbus to be one of the toughest ( if not the toughest) customers when it comes to accepting an airplane and rightfully so apparently!

QR 515, hi mate! Whats happening with the F/Os who agreed to go on 340? Are they delayed until further notice?
Cheers.

The 346 now possibly delayed until mid to late September. Crewing have been asked to prepare all new (shadow) rosters on AB6/332/333 alternatives for the routes planned on the 346.

Crews are being trained back on the A330, at least most of them.
A330 roster will be a total mess in september/october
september is next testflight...god knows what will happen then

Negative, A330 Captains September roster will be one of the best (no early arrivals/late departures, requested days-off all approved, flights request are back to normal).
When it comes to the F/Os roster, tough luck due to the shortage in numbers.

also in other news, QR are set to announce an order of more than 50 aircraft in the next couple of months. maybe its firming up the 350's or going for the 787? time will tell!
