Good luck for anyone that applies for those 747-200's with Transmile.
They will bond you and your first child so you dont leave after 12 months for a real airline.
Want to fly a real airline? Stay away from these tossers!!!
Nothing but bad news for aviation in general...
Damn it's good to be BACK!!!

Any outfit that is hiring pilots should be commended, how it is run is another story. And as for the bonding, it is normal practice for non rated pilots to be bonded if the company pays for your rating. There was an airline that bonded you and increase the quantum the longer you serve. Now, that's a classic!

Camelbird thanks for telling us what we all already know about bonding. I'm talking about having to fork OUT money to pay for the bond...with a LONGER list of conditions.
Hell why not just fly for free...we all need jet hours dont we? :hmm:

Of course we all know what a Bond is!. But what it implies is sometimes abit confusing. If you break your bond before it expires, then you have to pay!!! The earlier you break your bond the more you have to pay.
This is normal, if not finish the tenure and walk away debt free.
I for one do not advocate working for free, even if you need your hours.

Camelbird Transmile ask you to PUT down a cash deposit... 747 could be a deposit of around $50 000RM...
Good luck to anyone that applies!!!

The latest rumour is the air farts are getting a B747SP...for what...the hell do I know. Probably the air farts figure "Special Peformance" so maybe they think the plan can carry 90++++ Tonnes from HKG to LAX direct....beats me...but as long as they dont know how to spell the word P-L-A-N, they will always be the air farts they are!!

Is that cos the MD cant carry max load to LA? Someone mentioned that before. I heard someone got a load of spares but is being blocked by a GT guy who making profit for his self.
All interesting stuff not.

The beautiful last tri-jet can't take 90 tonnes from HKG to LAX direct...that's why they gotta go to ANC in the first place. Depending on the weather condition for that day, we could usually take only 77 to 78 tonnes. However our smart ex-COO aka Tan Sotong tells everyone that we could take 79+ tonnes easily to ANC from HKG direct and so the big G listens to him....not like we have the greatest flight plan...Transmile...always want cheap cheap but the best! Here's a guy who also said and I quote, "oh yeah..747...easy....just 1 more engine than 727...no problem lah!!!!"
The latest rumour is 2X AAI Classic 747s for wet lease and Transmile will actually hunt for 2X 747-300 as freighters. They are still eyeing on the 4x Thai MD-11s.

kwaiyai I agree with you. Transmile will not get the 747-300...
2 747-200's coming over in July from Europe, 2 747-200's from MAS Kargo in April/May
I think I saw one of the 747's when I was in europe last week. Looked like it was getting stripped and fully checked out. Ex-air atlanta I think...

Transmile in talks to buy used Boeing MD-11s, 14-June-2006
Extracted from Business Times.
TRANSMILE Group Bhd said it is in talks with several aircraft owners to buy used Boeing MD-11s as part of its fleet and route expansion programme.
"We are in talks with a number of MD-11 owners, but nothing has been finalised yet.
"Production of such freighters has stopped and as such it requires a bit of patience to source," Transmile chief executive officer Gan Boon Aun told a news conference after the group's annual general meeting in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
In the meantime, it may lease B747 freighters until more MD-11s join its fleet.
He declined to reveal the number of MD-11s the group is planning to buy, but said, "we need as many (MD-11s) as we can get".
The new freighters will be used to boost its flight frequencies and open new routes in the US. It currently operates a freighter fleet of 10 B727s, four MD-11s, four B737s and two Cessna 208Bs.
The air cargo operator flies five times weekly from Kuala Lumpur to Los Angeles via Hong Kong and Anchorage, and expects to increase this service to six flights a week by July this year.
Gan said the Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong-Anchorage-Los Angeles sector is the most lucrative for Transmile and thus, it is looking to buy additional MD-11s to increase its frequencies on the sector.
The new freighters will also be used to open a new route from Kuala Lumpur to Chicago via Shanghai and Anchorage.
"This (new route) will depend on how soon we can get the additional MD-11s," said Gan.
To a question, Gan said there are several options available to pay for the aircraft purchase.
"We can fund the purchase of these aircraft through lease-purchase or issue bonds or any other instruments. Today, the liquidity in the market is quite strong and Transmile maintains a good rating. We believe that we can use most of the instruments to secure the aircraft," he added. A lease purchase contract combines a basic lease contract with an option-to-purchase contract.
Meanwhile, Transmile is expecting another year of solid gains for the fiscal year ending December 31 2006, driven by the full-year utilisation of its four MD-11s this year since it took delivery of them in the fourth quarter of 2005.
Last year, Transmile posted a net profit of RM84.4 million on a revenue of RM550.08 million.
Charter flight services are expected to contribute as much as 35 per cent to the group's total revenue this year, with the balance from its scheduled express service operations. - KANG SIEW LI

A full boat 747-200s can't even make HKG-ANC direct with out a tech stop in Russia or Japan, let alone HKG - LAX. Just ask the Polar, Kalitta and Evergreen guys in HKG.

A FULL BOAT probably not, but their target cargo load is only 90 tonnes. With a B742, it has a max load of 110-120 tonnes on max payload but with max fuel, their payload is reduced down to the required weight. Hence, they would not have to reduce the load based on the MD's max 90 tonnes to 70-80 tonnes.
And before anybody questions about the fuel price, I believe the cost of fuel has been contracted to transmile's:cool: clients.:ugh:

Hi skywest,
There are Foreign pilots however if you check through the posts I wrote a post about currently the DCA (Malaysian Aviation Authority) are not approving Foreign Co-Pilot's. Experienced Captains on type should be OK.
I heard also that experienced MD11 FO can get in as TAIR are needing more crew I understand.
Worthy of note is I heard from 1 DCA Gentleman that any Co's currently here will be dealt with on a case by case system and shouldnt have a problem renewing.
Regards,
