RBA & Airbus

Not too long ago the CEO stated a complete fleet revamp. The aging Boeings out for 18 new Airbus, 12narrow body & 6 wide body. I know RBA has taken delivery of A320/319s. Which are the wide body aircrafts - A340 or A330. When are they due?

The royal aircraft use to be or still is an A340.

However I see the 330/350 are being the aircraft of choice for the 767 replacement. Freight space is the problem, an A330-300 will hold the same amount of freight as a 777-200.

An A330-300 can hold 163 cubic meter in its cargo hold ( all inclusive ) , the 777-200 will hold 200 cubic meter unless its a dedicated freight aircraft. Just to set the record straight. Cheers !

One of the Royal aircraft is the A340 till today. It makes sense for RBA to go for A340s. I guess the A350 would be a strong contender, being next generation technology. The CEO`s announcement was made before the A350 was conjured. However, these days making sense or technology has nothing to do with choice of aircrafts. There`s always more than meets the eye!

I would be pleased to be corrected if I am wrong, I was of the understand that the A330-300 was 162.9 m^3, 777-200 150 m^3, 777-300 200.5 m^3.

This Boeing link (http://www.boeing.com/commercial/777family/pf/pf_200product.html) suggests 150 m^3 for the 777-200.
