I am a CPL/IR with a frozen ATPL and 200 Hrs. I am not having much success with any job applications. I am considering doing an instructors rating to better myself and stay current. Can any of you recommend a good place to gain an instructors rating and have you any idea of the cost. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I could heartily recommend Dave Coulson over at Cranfield Aero Club (01296 398561). If you're good he might give you work too. His graduates tend to be sort after and often get ahead quickly to where they want to go!
I am one who did.

Hi 330
Speak to Sandy Torrance CFI at the Scottish Aero Club, Perth (01738-553357 i think). Good instructor and reasonable rates I believe.
Good Luck.

Hi 330,
You don't say where you live but,if its around the West London area, why not give Gordon Sharp a ring on 01420 562907. He's good and operates from the West London Aero Club (01628 823272) at White Waltham.
I do my Examiner/Instructor renewals with him if thats any recommendation(!)
Can't help with the costs,sorry.
Rgrds, Sleeve.

I did my AFI and upgrade with David Scouller at Old Sarum Flying Club near Salisbury, Wilts. I think his instruction is very good and OSFC is friendly and relaxed. Their number is 441722 322525.
