My links don't go blue when in Yahoo mail

. . . and some of my aging pals don't know what to do.

So, W7 FF 36.0.1 and Yahoo, and say:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcricI2H4dE Just some unimportant file about hamburgers.

But on gmail it still works fine. On Yahoo it has always painted the link blue ready for the recipient, but lately it steadfastly refuses to do so. Searched settings to no avail.

Oh, just seen level 1 users don't have this ability. I've used it since it was invented, but now don't have an AT&T phone so maybe they've downgraded me.

Still using Yahoo?

After the various alleged (but denied) hacks and the falling-out with BT, most of the erstwhile Yahoo users I know have migrated to Gmail or to "proper" e-mail.

I got totally sick of Yahoo when, every time I tried to read mail, it insisted that I choose a 'theme' and the buttons didn't work.

They can deny it all they want. It was me who alerted Rory Cellan-Jones the second time it happened (after they said they'd fixed things), and he toddled off to talk to BT about it, and before he could file his story they'd put out a press release dumping them.

I was unaware of any link with BT. My life with Yahoo has been American via my phone with AT&T.

In all respects but this one, my old e-address has plodded on and on with a workable file system that resembles Windoze Explorer in its sub-folder logic. I wish to @#$%#$ that Skype would be so logical.

gmail? I've mentioned before about the bizarre pauses when Replying. It does not happen when I start a new Compose. Nothing I turn off will stop it pausing for as much as four seconds while I type in Reply mode. As I said . . . nay, screamed, WTF is going on? How can I have this happen on any of my kit - even that with W7 64 bit with 6 gigs. So effin' annoying is it that I nearly gave up and dumped a free email program that has my unadulterated initials and name - which I was assured I'd never get. Oh, and the damned thing takes as much as six seconds to open and check my mail.

Anyway, my dear old curvelogic was spawned when I was communicating with folk about my gravitational model. I thought it was kind of neat. However, I've not convinced anyone that I've cracked the ultimate question yet.

Ah. You must be using Gmail and Yahoo in "webmail" mode. I'm not sure what the advantages of that might be: I use Thunderbird and run Gmail (his 'n hers) as if they were IMAP accounts. It works very well. There is no delay that I can detect.

I have a selection of other e-mail addresses for various purposes (unlike Mrs Clinton), all handled through Thunderbird with no problems.

Yahoo I stopped using some years ago.

"Yahoo" - nothing more appropriately named!
