For a position report the seq. is:

1. Name of current fix and time over it.

2. Altitude

3. Name and eta of next fix.. .Now this fix, should it be the name of the next copulsory reporting point, or if there is a non-compulsory prior to the next com., should it be the next one?

4. The name of the next fix.. .Again, this next fix, is it the next non-comp. or the next comp?

Just trying to get it straight.

Ray

Ray Double, only the compulsory fixes need be reported, unless ATC asks otherwise.

Many moons ago, I was taught that fix (3) is the next compulsory point, or any fix that defines the route of flight (e.g., switching from one airway to another at a "noncompulsory" point). Fix (4) is the next fix after that, regardless if compulsory or not.

OK, can you see my confusion? Any other opinions?

Ray, as per FAA:. .3. Name and eta of next fix.. .This would be the next compulsory point.. .4. The name of the next fix.. .This is the next fix, regardless of type.. .Good Luck.

It depends on what region of the world you are in. Check the panels on your Jepps chart for specific reporting procedures.
