Hi,

When airlines lease aircraft, is there a minumum lease time or terms that allow the airline to paint the aircraft in their livery?

Regards

Under a Dry Lease not usually - as the lease return conditions dictate that the aircraft will be returned in a certain maintenance and physical condition i.e. as it was delivered, with fresh C Check, AD/SB's complied with, painted all white etc. etc.

If the aircraft is repossessed prior to completion of the Lease period the lease 'reserve' payments should cover these costs if they are to be born by the Lessor

On a medium/long term Wet Lease/ACMI arrangement the operator will usually allow you to repaint the aircraft at your expense and return it back in their original livery at your expense...the practical minimum time is up to the Lessee and an evaluation of the cost involved.
