Think the guy who was flying the amphibian at about 30 feet over the swimmers, pier and boats on Sunday at Southsea should expect a visit from the CAA pretty soon. Apparently flying in a reckless manner and the police turbine Islander was scrambled to track it but he'd dissapeared before plod got there. See www.thenews.co.uk for a picture of it.

Sorry didn't realise there was already a tread started ! I fly from Lee and you can get swimmers way out in the Solent right across to the IOW so how the amphib pilot would know he was clear by at least 500 feet is beyond me. Someone must have been alarmed as they wouldn't have called for Hampshire Police's Islander (based at Lee) to be scrambled though obviously the Lake had decided to land at Goodwood by then.
